1. Can Infrared Penetrate Water?
No! The infrared rays will not penetrate accumulated or puddle water. Accumulated water such as you find in a “bird bath” should be swept away. Moisture and dampness does not affect infrared capabilities … puddled water does.

2. Can Infrared Repair be Used Year Round?
Outside temperatures affect the time that is needed to allow for full depth penetration. This varies slightly from season to season, but repairs can be conducted on a year round basis. The outside temperatures will not affect the ability to create thermally bonded surfaces, or full depth repairs.

3. Can Infrared Be Used To Correct Reflective Cracking?
Not if the reflective cracking is caused by a poor base. If the base lacks proper drainage or is of a material that causes the surface to shift, the Infrared process will dress up the area but the reflective crack will work back through.

4. Does Infrared Repair And Re-claiming Change The Characteristics Of The Pavement?
Results from lab tests that we have received indicate little or no discernable differences in the physical properties or characteristics of the pavement that was tested. Please keep in mind that pavement characteristics vary from geographic location to location. Remember true infrared is a ray and does not depend on excessive amounts of heat to accomplish its task.
